Plenty of articles explain hot stone massage in theory; this one does something different — it walks you through a session, minute by minute. We gathered everything first-time guests tell us they wish they had known.
The first 10 minutes: before the stones appear
The session starts stone-free. Your therapist warms your back with classic strokes while the stones wait in water heated to 50-55°C. Skip this warm-up and the stone heat lands like a shock; keep it and the heat lands like velvet.
Minutes 10-20: first contact
The first stone is never simply placed; the therapist holds it in their own palm first, then introduces the heat by gliding it over your skin. You'll hear "how's the temperature?" several times here — your answer steers the session. Heat preference isn't fussiness; it's the steering wheel.
Minutes 20-40: placement and the deep chapter
Stones now settle onto warmed muscles: along both sides of the spine, on the shoulders, sometimes in the palms. While they rest, the therapist keeps working the free zones. The feeling guests describe as "melting away" arrives here — most lose track of time entirely.
The last 10 minutes: a soft landing
Stones are lifted one by one, the tempo drops, and long sweeping strokes close the session. Mild drowsiness on standing is normal — the tea break exists precisely for that.
Before you book
If you are heat-sensitive, pregnant or have a circulatory condition, check with your doctor first. Details and timing are on our hot stone page — and the phone is always on for questions.
