Same massage, same therapist, same length — yet one guest calls it "the session of my life" while another says "it was fine". The difference usually lies in what happens before and after the table. Here are the small rules our therapists have seen work, time and again.
Before the session: 4 rules
- Neither full nor hungry: let 1.5-2 hours pass after your last meal. A full stomach makes lying face-down uncomfortable; hunger keeps you distracted.
- Hydrate, don't flood: good hydration through the day is enough; litres right before only earn you bathroom breaks.
- Arrive 10 minutes early: hitting the table out of breath turns the first 15 minutes into a calming-down tax.
- Say what's wrong: "my shoulders are rock solid", "keep it gentle today" — one sentence steers the whole session.
After the session: 4 rules
- Get up slowly: light-headedness shows up mostly in fast risers.
- Take a water break: a glass or two settles the common mild drowsiness.
- Keep the evening free: heavy training or a packed schedule right after quickly spends the relaxation you just earned.
- Note the effect: remember how you feel the next day — it is the most valuable thing you can tell your therapist next time.
Frequently asked: shower afterwards?
After oil massages you may rinse at the salon if you wish — but there is no rush; oil lingering a while extends the skincare effect. With oil-free options like the gel massage, no shower is needed at all.
